Your daily dose of Avalanche news, along with other interesting storylines across the NHL. It was a day of rest for the Colorado Avalanche following their bizarre 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars the night before, therefore no practice updates to share. There will be two days of practice ahead leading up to Friday’s rematch in Dallas.
There was one bit of news as following that game on Monday night the team released their next set of cuts which brings the roster to 48. It is a little surprising Saige Weinstien didn’t get a game but he was banged up in rookie camp and the team needs to sort through their 14 remaining defensemen.
We have announced the following transactions: Saige Weinstein, D (Spokane – WHL) was reassigned to his junior club. In addition, Chad Hillebrand, LW and Devante Stephens, D, were reassigned to the Colorado Eagles American Hockey League camp.— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) September 24, 2024
The Avalanche posted a nice video of Logan O’Connor signing his long-term contract extension prior to the game, with a special former teammate in Andrew Cogliano standing by.

The NHL announced their new behind-the-scenes docuseries “Faceoff” will be premiering soon on October 4th for those with a Prime subscription. Those who have seen the first episode have teased it’s fantastic and the trailer is no exception. Gabe Landeskog is expected to feature in an episode about captains.
Here is the trailer (Landeskog is not in it) but still gets you pretty darn hyped.https://t.co/iacPZ1N2xw— Brennan Vogt (@brennan_vogt) September 23, 2024
