NHL Rumors: Rangers Interested In Bruins Forward

According to Elliotte Friedman, the New York Rangers have expressed interest in Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk.HNIC 32 Thoughts -- Canadian Olympic Team/Oilers/Vejmelka/Kane & WASH/Chychrun/Kadri new agent/NYR & DeBrusk (helps to include video): https://t.co/nGDVfjqJkc— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) January 23, 2022 The Rangers have been on the hunt for a middle-six forward since they lost Sammy Blais for the remainder of the season. DeBrusk certainly fits that description when he's at his best, so it makes sense that the Rangers would jump into the sweepstakes. However, it's also important to note that he does have trouble playing on his off wing, and the Rangers have been searching for a right winger. Thus, he may not be their answer for that specific need.In 33 games this season, DeBrusk has six goals and 13 total points. He seems to be on the verge of having a hot streak, too, as he has a goal and two assists over his last two games. If he were to keep this pace up, it could help his trade value go up a bit. This, in turn, could also heighten his chances of his trade request being fulfilled. There is a little bit of risk with the Bruins trading him to the Rangers, though. Both teams are likely to play in the postseason this spring, so Boston will have to decide if they are okay with helping out a fellow Eastern Conference team.Alas, we will have to see what happens with DeBrusk from here. If he keeps playing well, it isn't out of the question that Boston would keep him around, either.Photo Credit: © Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports...
