Lightning 4 (EN), Islanders 1: Slide reaches six.

Met expectations. The New York Islanders winless streak extended to six, with four regulation losses in a row, as they lost for the second time in four days to the Tampa Bay Lightning and descended further from their wild card dreams.
It wasn’t a great game for anyone — Anthony Duclair fully entered the doghouse, the terrible power play went 0 for 4, Adam Pelech pinched sloppily to lead to the odd-man rush that created Victor Hedman’s backbreaker — but it was hardly unexpected. The Lightning got on the board first in the first period before Bo Horvat answered quickly with a shorthander, but the Lightning got two quick goals midway through the second period to pull away and never look back.
Results elsewhere made it a maximally damaging night for the Isles, as the wild card holding Montreal Canadiens beat the Panthers in overtime and the Blue Jackets beat the Predators to keep pace.
