Introducing your new Managing Editor

I am excited to share this news with the MHH community! Surprise!
It’s me, Jackie Kay, your new Managing Editor.
After years of changes I’m hoping this will be the smoothest transition of all as I’m stepping up to take the helm to lead the ship that is Mile High Hockey.
The journey began as I became a member of this wonderful Colorado Avalanche community back in 2013 and then began writing for the site in 2017 recapping games at the end of that fateful 2016-17 season. After the year I stayed on writing in an unofficial capacity for five years until I took a contributing editor position in 2022. Through four different managing editors since then I never left because this is home to me.
But it’s not about me, Mile High Hockey is about you, our community of readers.
There are many different platforms and outlets that do a tremendous job covering the Avalanche but what they don’t have is our community, which is in my opinion the strongest hockey family on the web. If that means we are a “blog” then I wear that badge proudly.
What I strive for as leader of Mile High Hockey is stability and consistency. Something that has been hard to come by over the last few years as the site, team and world at large has been through many ups and downs. I’m honored and humbled to have this opportunity because there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.
With that in mind, none of the hockey content you expect is changing and we will continue looking to enhance with the goal to grow the site and community even bigger and stronger. This will always be a space to laugh, cry, cheer, criticize and be Avalanche fans together.
On behalf of Adrian, Ezra, Jess, Ryan, John, Brennan, Casey and Eddie, we are Mile High Hockey.
