The Winnipeg Jets and New Jersey Devils are playing in Newark tonight in a game that will be another test for the Jets turning around the recent slide that they have been on. Going into the trade deadline they should be buyers and significant buyers at that.
The Devils have had a nice bounce back season following a rough season last year if I remember correctly. They had a long win streak this season and have helped Lindy Ruff restore his name as a coach after a couple rougher seasons. Just goes to show how much roster construction matters for coaches.
No lineups today as I’m on my phone at my parents. Connor Hellebuyck will be on goal after missing the last two games due to illness. Hopefully no one else on the Jets gets sick and the team can keep their streak of keeping the team fairly healthy for the time being.
The Devils have had some tough seasons, but have been better this year. They have Jack Hughes on the blue line who has quietly had a good season. They also have a couple young forwards who have started putting together solid NHL careers. The Devils have never been this exciting and the Jets will hopefully be able to have a good game against them. ...
