Avalanche Rumors: 3 Forwards Linked To Colorado
Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now has linked the Colorado Avalanche to three potential trade targets as the team looks to address its bottom-six forward depth: Juuso Parssinen of the Nashville Predators, Nick Robertson of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Jonatan Berggren of the Detroit Red Wings. With injuries sidelining key players like Jonathan Drouin and Miles Wood, Deen believes a third-line center or a versatile winger could provide much-needed stability. "Parssinen could bring stability to the third line, while Robertson and Berggren offer offensive upside that could push AHL call-ups back to the minors," he wrote.Stay hot, Nick Robertson! 🔥He now has six points in his last three games. 📈 pic.twitter.com/0DvXGVnmDD— Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) December 21, 2024 Deen sees Parssinen as an affordable and reliable option for the Avalanche’s third line, particularly given his two-way capabilities. Meanwhile, Robertson and Berggren, despite their struggles this season, represent intriguing opportunities for a fresh start. Robertson’s scoring potential, as seen in recent games, and Berggren’s playmaking ability could add depth to the Avalanche lineup, easing the pressure on top-six players. Both would also provide flexibility for head coach Jared Bednar as he works through lineup adjustments with multiple players unavailable.Elliotte Friedman mentioned that Juuso Parssinen could soon be on the move. Has good size at 6'3" and 212 pounds, is fourth on the Predators in faceoffs at 46.8% and he is sixth on the team in hits/60 at 5v5 with 9.79.Could be a smart buy-low candidate for the Leafs' bottom-six https://t.co/TPy5ZI1ewt pic.twitter.com/gB9opMbHzv— Michael (@mic_mazz) December 13, 2024 While these three players are considered affordable and realistic options, Deen acknowledges timing will be a challenge, particularly with the NHL’s holiday trade freeze looming. If none of these players are attainable, he suggests the Avalanche might consider larger moves closer to the trade deadline, such as pursuing Yanni Gourde from the Seattle Kraken.Photo Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images...
