Growlers roll past Royals, 6-2

ST JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland Growlers made it a series sweep in style as they scored five first period goals en route to a 6-2 win over the Reading Royals on Sunday evening at Mary Brown’s Centre. Jacob Gaucher opened the scoring for the visiting Royals 90 seconds into regulation before the Growlers quickly took control of the game. Tyler Boland would add some insurance midway through the second period, finishing off a great 2-on-1 feed from Johnson to make it 6-2. Dryden McKay made 29 saves in his second career pro start, turning away all 18 shots he faced after the opening frame to secure a 6-2 Growlers win. Newfoundland head out on the road for a two-game set against the Trois-Riviéres Lions next weekend....
