* Alexandar Georgiev made the second-most saves in a shutout performance by a Rangers goaltender (since 1955-56 when shots on goal began being tracked) behind only Henrik Lundqvist (45 saves on Jan. 12, 2010).

* Alex Ovechkin (40-36—76 in 62 GP) recorded his 12th career 40-goal season and tied Wayne Gretzky for the most in NHL history.

* Mark Giordano (Toronto, Ont.) is returning to his hometown – the one he cheered for as a kid – in an acquisition by the Maple Leafs ahead of Monday’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.

* Eight teams will be in action Monday, including three currently occupying a Wild Card spot in the League standings as the NHL moves into the final 40 days of the regular season.
