NHL Names All-Star Game Replacement For Injured Drake Batherson
Ottawa Senators right-winger Drake Batherson sustained a serious ankle injury when Buffalo Sabres' goalie Aaron Dell checked him into the boards during yesterday's 5-0 victory over the lowly Sabres. The 23-year-old American was set to play in his very first NHL All-Star game next Saturday, but the untimely injury will keep him out "long-term" and out of next weekend's festivities. The 6'3" winger has been having a breakout season with the Sens, scoring 34 points in 31 games thus far, and hopefully, he can get back on the ice soon. Here is the play in case you missed it:As for the All-Star Game, the NHL has already announced a replacement for the injured Batherson - Senators charismatic team captain Brady Tkachuk. Tkachuk will be making his second All-Star appearance and the power forward has had a good season offensively thus far registering 27 points in 33 games played and has 4 fighting majors to boot.
