The Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators have completed a trade on Monday, with forward Philip Tomasino heading to the Pens in exchange for Pittsburgh's fourth-round draft pick in 2027.The Penguins have acquired forward Philip Tomasino from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round draft pick.Tomasino is signed through the 2024.25 season and carries an average annual value of $825,000 at the NHL level.Details: https://t.co/yrkVQXqdTH pic.twitter.com/r66MCSSSJ3— Pittsburgh Penguins (@penguins) November 25, 2024Tomasino, 23, is a former first-round pick (24th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft) by the Preds, and he'll become a restricted free agent at season's end, as he plays out the year on an $825,000 cap hit. The young forward, who can play all three positions up front, has gotten into 11 games with Nashville in 2024-25, recording one assist in 11:18 ice time per night. Last season, in 41 games, he recorded 20 points, while adding another 11 goals and 18 points in 22 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL. He was a nice secondary offensive piece on the 4th line in his rookie season with Nashville in 2021-22, scoring 11 goals with 32 points in 76 games in 11:32 per contest. He earned himself over 15 minutes a night the following season, but was only in Nashville for 31 games, spending the rest of his time in the AHL.Overall, he's had nice success in the minors, averaging close to a point per game, as the Penguins attempt to continue to add to their depth chart with more young pieces.Photo: © Steve Roberts-Imagn Images...
