NHL Rumors: Canucks Goaltender Wants To Stay Put
Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jaroslav Halak doesn't want to be traded by the deadline, according to Elliotte Friedman.Friedman on Halak - Halak has made it very clear that he does not want to be traded at this point.Donnie and DhaliCHEK TV— Rick Dhaliwal (@DhaliwalSports) February 14, 2022 Halak has been viewed as a prime potential rental candidate for teams in need of a backup goaltender. Yet, this development from Friedman makes it clear that a trade involving the 36-year-old is extremely unlikely.Halak should be able to get what he wants with ease, as he currently has a no-movement clause on his contract. Due to this, he has to accept a trade elsewhere - which is very likely not going to happen from here.In 10 appearances this campaign, Halak has a 2-5-2 record, 2.90 goals-against average, and .903 save percentage. It's been a bit of a down year for the veteran, but he still is an acceptable choice for a backup role. Yet, teams interested in him will now likely have to begin looking elsewhere.Photo Credit: © Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports...
