Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks

The Winnipeg Jets are in the middle of a three game losing streak as they take on the Vancouver Canucks tonight. The Jets have been struggling due to the injuries they have with their forwards although Nikolaj Ehlers is once again skating as is Cole Perfetti. It is a positive for them going forward if those two forwards are inching closer to return.
The Jets have been struggling period and because they are having a hard time scoring at all, they will need to play defensively perfect hockey until they get more scoring back or a trade is made to help them. In their last game, Connor Hellebuyck was uncharacteristically a little off to start and that had the Jets on their back foot early. As long as Hellebuyck holds form, they should be able to eek out a win or two.
The Canucks are not the team they were at the start of the season in that they have won some games now. they are still an organization in disarray, but they are capable of winning games and the Jets will have to be on their game to get a win against them because of this. Elias Petterson and Bo Horvat have been leading the way offensively for the Canucks with Petterson being deemed the only player who will not be traded by the Canucks. Everyone else is fair game although as we know, a bad contract can make someone untradeable.
Outside of this the Canucks are still without Thatcher Demko who could be out another month. Instead Spencer Martin has stepped in as the starting goalie to mixed results. In short, the Canucks have to score their ways to wins and cannot rely on their goalie to win it for them. This could be good news for the Jets and this does appear to be the most winnable game in this recent stretch. All it took was some key injuries to the other team. ...
