Sheffield Steelers ensured they stayed two points off top spot, with two games in hand, in the Premier Sports Elite League with a clinical display at Ice Arena Wales. Excellent play by Justin Hodgman set up Tanner Ebrele for a rebound finish in close to make it 3-1 at 28:34, and then Evan Mosey went top shelf on a 2-on-1 break at 33:41 the Steelers were 4-1 up. Robert Dowd made it five at 36:08, with Eberle then scoring again at 39:13, on the powerplay, for a 6-1 Steelers lead. Brandon McNally pulled a goal back for the hosts at 39:25, but that turned out to be the final goal of the game as the Steelers played out the remaining 20 minutes without conceding further to log an important road win.
