Oettinger is both the present and future in goal for Dallas. After a strong regular season, the 2017 first-round pick showed signs of being a star in the first round of the playoffs against the Calgary Flames. Although they ended up losing to Calgary, he was the only reason why they forced the series to seven games. His 1.81 GAA and .954 SV% show that perfectly. The Stars need to find a way to get a new contract for Oettinger finalized. He is not the only top young player in need of a new deal, however, as Jason Robertson also is an RFA.
