Lou Lamoriello has “no concern” about Ilya Sorokin, who is skating. The Islanders opened prospect (plus Tsyplakov and Kinkaid) camp Thursday, and Friday general manager Lou Lamoriello gave one of his rare interviews with media.
There was concern about Ilya Sorokin among the internets — Elliotte Friedman offering that the Isles goalie may be “battling something” — but Lamoriello said it is a minor “upper body” workout injury and of no concern. “He’s been here all summer.”

Don’t be surprised to see Sorokin miss the start of pro camp, however. Here’s Lou’s updates in written form and in video. [Isles]
Lamoriello also shared that Matt Martin, Isles Legend, will be in camp on a PTO. [Post]
That follows the previously announced-by-virtue-of-being-on-the-prospect-roster PTO for local boy Keith Kinkaid. [Isles]
KHL 30-goal scorer Maxim Tsyplakov, in this camp to get oriented, affirmed that he chose opportunity (and Patrick Roy) over money in joining the Isles. [AM NY | Isles | NHL]
