It’s the second of six meetings this month. “We’ll get really familiar with them. They’re a good hockey team.”
So says Barry Trotz, on the even of the second of six meetings this month between the Islanders and Penguins. For the Penguins, who were supposed to play the Devils in the interim, it’s the second game in a row against the Isles.
Last one was a nailbiter with lots of goals. What will Episode 2 bring?
Not that it should really affect the on-ice performance, but tonight is the beginning of the new Ron Hextall-Brian Burke era for the Penguins.
The Isles will face a different goalie this time, with Casey DeSmith announced as the Penguins starter. Coach Mike Sullivan said all other guys are gametime decisions:
