Simpson Shuts the Door for League Leading Fourth Shutout as Petes Blank Frontenacs in Kingston

Just a day after a devastating last minute loss to the league leading Ottawa 67’s, the Petes put Thursday night behind them and traveled to Kingston to take on the Frontenacs. The Leon’s Centre has not been kind to the Petes this season, and the Maroon and White were looking for their first win in Kingston this season heading into the game. Kingston entered the game coming off of a tough loss to the last place Niagara IceDogs, and the Petes would try to use that to their advantage to get out of their own funk. Seven minutes into the game, Avery Hayes forced a short handed turnover at the Kingston blue line resulting in a two on one for the Petes. Simpson had multiple big saves off of turnovers to hold the Petes lead and keep the game 1-0 heading into the third....
