Despite all the headlines regarding the 30-year-old's life, he scored 22 goals in 56 games last season and was on pace for a career high in goals, assists and points. The attention didn't seem to bother Kane and surely his agent will be pointing to these numbers when negotiating his next move.Playoff bound teams will be having internal discussions these next 48 hours about a finalized decision on interest in Kane. Power forwards who are in their prime of their careers are hard to come by and especially on the open market. Evander Kane, contract terminated by SJ, is a top six power forward who despite taking lots of penalties can play in all situations and produces reasonably well. Be curious to see if it's mostly just deals for the rest of the season or would a team be interested enough to offer a three-to-five year deal. Kane was making $7 million per season and was originally signed by the Sharks through the 2024-25 season. The former fourth-overall pick of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2009 now sits and waits for the phone to ring. How long does he wait before anyone calls?
