Recently bought out defenseman Tony DeAngelo is already set to join a new team. But expecting a 1-year deal. There was lots of interest and the opportunity to play for Rod Brind'Amour was appealing.@DFOHockey— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) July 27, 2021 DeAngelo was cut from the New York Rangers this season after starting a physical conflict with goaltender Alexandar Georgiev. This was after an already well-known controversial past, so the team felt that it was time to move forward. He would only appear in six games and recorded one assist. However, when DeAngelo is on his game and not being a distraction, he is a very solid top-four, offensive defenseman. In 2019-20, the 25-year-old had 15 goals and 53 points, which was very impressive. If he can replicate those totals with the Hurricanes, he would be a good replacement for pending UFA Dougie Hamilton in terms of offense. DeAngelo now has the chance to have a clean slate on a new team. We will see if he behaves himself better this time around. Photo Credit: © James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports...
