How many more goals for a call up? The month of November brought a home-heavy schedule with one trip to visit some struggling teams in California, as such the Colorado Eagles rebounded with a 7-2-1 record in those games and now hold a 9-6-3 record overall, good enough for currently fourth in the Pacific Division. The Eagles are trending in the right direction heading into the final month of play before the holiday break.
After the veterans led the charge for the Eagles to start the 2023-24 season it was the kids who showed up to grab some spotlight for the month of November.
First Star - RW Oskar Olausson - 18 GP: 5G, 2A, 7P
Although the overall stat line won’t earn him any headlines it was quietly a very good month for the young Swedish forward. Olausson scored his first goal of the season and then put up a total of five goals for the month, which ties him for second on the team in the goal scoring department. Olausson is more involved with the puck and generally holds an offensive role for the team. Hopefully if he continues on this trajectory he will get another important look in the NHL this season.

Second Star - D Sam Malinski - 17 GP: 3G, 6A, 9P
The Colorado Avalanche system’s newest defenseman also had a good month which even earned him a call up to the big club for his NHL debut in Seattle. While he’s been with the Eagles Malinski has been a steady contributor and has helped their offensive attack. He ended the month on a high note with a three assist effort in a 6-3 win over the Texas Stars.

Third Star - C Ivan Ivan - 15 GP: 2G, 3A, 5P
Though not officially an Avalanche prospect since the club doesn’t even hold his rights, Ivan has had a good start to his professional career and scored his first goal as an Eagle in the month of November. He’s continuing to get more responsibility including holding down the third line center job. His playmaking and play driving is sorely needed on a more meat and potatoes Eagles team especially with Jean-Luc Foudy still mysteriously absent. If Ivan continues to play well he should earn a contract with the Avalanche or another NHL organization.

Honorable Mention - Ben Meyers
Though he only played five games in November after he missed time due to a minor injury it should still be mentioned that Meyers scored a hat trick against the San Jose Barracuda. Meyers currently has scored seven points in 13 games and continues to work his game back to where he will get another opportunity with the Avalanche. ...
