Maple Leafs Lose Three Players

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

Ondrej Kase, Justin Holl, and Nick Ritchie of the Toronto Maple Leafs have all entered COVID-19 protocol.Yet, they also have some good news, too. Star winger Mitch Marner has exited protocol and so has Pierre Engvall. However, losing three more players certainly isn't ideal for the Maple Leafs. This is especially true when noting that their next two games are against the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers. Out of the trio, Kase is arguably the most notable. In 30 games this season, the 26-year-old winger has been excellent for the Leafs, as he has eight goals and nine assists. It's also hard to hear because he had just returned from an injury earlier this week. Once again, he will sadly be sidelined. After a very hard start to the season, Holl has picked up his play as of late. In 29 games, he now has a goal and two assists. With that, he is now a plus-4, which is a lot better than earlier on in the season. It's never ideal to lose a defenseman, so let's see how Toronto adjusts. This is tough news for Ritchie, as he is currently trying to keep his spot on the NHL roster. The 26-year-old winger was waived earlier this month, but then immediately was back in action due to multiple players being out of the lineup. In 33 games on the season, he has two goals and seven assists. Photo Credit: © Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports...
