Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Dallas Stars

The Winnipeg Jets have been on a roll. They have been playing better than before and are starting to string together some wins which is key as we approach American Thanksgiving. After idling around .500 for a while, they have managed to pull away and go on a string of wins that are the definition of “they don’t ask how, they only ask how many”. The Jets are not a juggernaut, but they are also not terrible. They’re mid and that is fine.
The Dallas Stars are the best team in the division and like the Jets, started off as a .500 team before stringing together some wins. Both teams are in a place where they can assert themselves as the strongest team in the Central (unless/until the Colorado Avalanche get rolling) which again, is important prior to American Thanksgiving.
Dallas is not a surprise team for being a stronger team. They have good goaltending and strong forwards who might not get the recognition they deserve because Dallas has been off of peoples radar for various reasons recently. But they seem to be back now with exciting players like Jason Robertson on their team.
Tonight is also Filipino Heritage Night in Winnipeg which is wonderful to see because the Filipino community has done a lot of hard work in the province and deserve to be recognized. Gary Bettman and Bill Daly will also meet with the press prior to the game tonight, but that’s just because they are in town on their 32 team league-wide tour. ...
