The Dallas Stars will likely be playing the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs without forward Jamie Benn after Benn was ejected for a brutal cross check in Game 3. The Stars captain was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct after delivering a nasty cross check to the head of Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone. Stone was lucky to come away unharmed as he stayed in the game, one in which the Golden Knights won. The play happened in the first two minutes of the game, after Vegas opened the scoring early on. Benn refused to speak to the media after the game and now has a hearing with the NHL's department of player safety. Look for a multi-game suspension to come, even though the Stars are down 3-0 and could be bounced in Game 4 on Thursday. So the Captain does not speak. 💯 unacceptable. That is when somebody tells him, that is your responsibility. Not speaking is not an option. https://t.co/FBRT0kGprn— Craig Button (@CraigJButton) May 24, 2023 Here's the play, you be the judge:Jamie Benn has been given a 5 minute major for his cross check on Mark Stone. pic.twitter.com/Ck1uCnnCgJ— Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) May 24, 2023 Photo credit: Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports...
