"Like Comparing A Lambo To A Prius" Brad Marchand Roasts Hurricanes Player
Tonight's matchup between the Boston Bruins and the visiting Carolina Hurricanes has some extra intrigue thanks to a less-than-friendly back and forth between Bruins agitator Brad Marchand and Hurricanes center Vincent Trocheck. According to Cooper Godin of Markerzone.com, following the morning skate, Hurricanes reporter Chip Alexander asked forward Vincent Trocheck if his game and playing style is similar to that of Bruins forward Brad Marchand to which Trocheck replied with, "Are you calling me a rat?"The 28-year-old plays a similar role to the long-time Bruin, but he obviously doesn't appreciate being compared to the polarizing Marchand, and in turn, Marchand didn't really appreciate the shade from the Canes' center. Rather than waiting for tonight's game to enact some form of revenge, the 33-year-old winger sniped at Trocheck on social media with a series of (now-deleted) posts meant to belittle his adversary:Brad Marchand's full post on Instagram after Vincent Trocheck called him a rat pic.twitter.com/nIyjDEcHv6— Alex (@bigbadbruins73) January 18, 2022 Vincent Trocheck has been a productive player in the NHL, recording 351 points in 501 career games, but the 4x All-Star was insulted to be mentioned in the same breath as him, and while Marchand has made tremendous strides over the last several seasons to become more of an offensive threat, his numbers were actually very similar to Trocheck's at this point in his career. Over the first 454 games of his career, Marchand averaged .63 points per game, while Trocheck over a similar period of time has averaged .70 points per game, so perhaps Trocheck will grow into the point-producer that Marchand has become, as well.Either way, one thing is for sure, tonight's Bruins/Hurricanes game at 7:00 PM EST is a must-watch!
