A couple of Avs players are up for hardware this evening. Just days after the Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers in seven games to win the Stanley Cup, the grind doesn’t stop. The NHL Awards Ceremony will crown some of the league's best performers tonight, with a couple of members of the Colorado Avalanche looking to take home the crown.
Cale Makar is again up for the Norris Trophy, looking to win the second one of his career. He may have the edge over the Nashville Predators’ Roman Josi, but he has a tall order to beat Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks.
Most eyes will be on Nathan MacKinnon, who is up to win his first Hart Trophy against the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Nikita Kucherov and Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid. Should he win, it would finally be the first of his career. MacKinnon is also in contention to win the Ted Lindsay Award with the aforementioned Kucherov and Auston Matthews from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Will Makar pull off an upset in the voting? Can MacKinnon finally win the MVP? We’re bound to find out soon! Follow along with the Awards Ceremony with the tweets and in the comments below!
