Columbus Blue Jackets Defenseman Set to Return
The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated Nick Blackenburg off of injured reserve. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jackets have sent Gavin Bayreuther back down to the AHL.Blankenburg has been out of action for Columbus the last handful of games due to an elbow injury, but he is now set to return for Friday's game in Finland. The 24-year-old will be aiming to build off of his solid start to the 2022-23 campaign, as he has a goal and an assist in four games thus far. Bayreuther filled in as a depth defenseman for Columbus while Blankenburg was sidelined, appearing in one game. The 28-year-old will now be returning to the Cleveland Monsters where he will be a key part of their blue line. However, don't expect this to be the last time we see him with Columbus this season, as he appears to be their primary call-up option when injuries occur.Photo Credit: © Russell LaBounty-USA TODAY Sports...
