A few standouts worth mentioning. Up north the Colorado Eagles have begun their season as well but experienced a light schedule thus far participating in only in six games over the course of three weekends earning five points and a 2-3-1 record. Still, there are some individual performances to recognize in the first month of the 2024-25 campaign.

First Star - C Nikita Prishchepov - 6GP: 1G, 3A, 4P
It has been a successful and memorable month of October for the Colorado Eagles’ newest and youngest player as Nikita Prishchepov inked a NHL contract and began his pro career in the AHL rather than return to Victoriaville in the QMJHL. The 20-year old Russian forward rewarded the organization for their commitment with production right out of the gate including his first professional goal. Prishchepov has been a consistent producer with four points in six games but needs to clean up some penalty trouble he’s faced.

Second Star - G Trent Miner - 2GP: 1-0-1, 0.97 GAA, .960 SV%
Ordinarily two starts wouldn’t be enough to earn star honors but without many games to pull from but it is Trent Miner who should be recognized with an eye-popping .960 save percentage and 0.97 Goals Against Average. In two games he earned a win and shootout loss giving up just two goals against in 124 minutes of play. The Colorado Avalanche sending Kaapo Kahkonen to the Eagles for conditioning also took away some starts from Miner but if he keeps up that kind of performance he will see more action and hopefully take permanent hold of the net in Loveland.
Third Star - RW Jason Polin - 5GP: 2G, 0A, 5P
A two-goal performance already puts Jason Polin at half of his goal total from the 2023-24 season. It also underscores just how important it is for production to hold a position on the first power play unit as that’s how Polin scored both of his goals. He missed a game due to illness but if he can stay healthy surely he’ll get another look in the NHL eventually.
Honorable Mention:
It’s going to take quite a season for Oskar Olausson to make an impression but being named the Eagles’ hot performer of the week is a good start.
