Devils destroy Asiago in Continental Cup

Cardiff Devils thrashed Asiago Hockey on day two of the IIHF Continental Cup Final in Angers, France. Brodie Reid made it 2-0 with 8:54 played while Josh Waller’s powerplay goal put the EIHL side three ahead after 12:46. Asiago, who qualified by virtue of winning the Alph Hockey League last season but moved into the ICEHL over the summer, were second best throughout although did get on the board 90 seconds into period two through Giorgano Finoro. Josh Brittain replied for the Devils 14 seconds later for a 4-1lead that the Devils carried into the second intermission. The Devils will have a shot at the title if Nitra beat hosts Angers tonight, or otherwise could be left hoping Asiago can overcome the hosts on Sunday....
