okay i am trying but my brain is malfunctioning The 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets are an experience. You feel everything watching them. Hope, joy, sadness, despair, and so much more in between. They are the perfect Hollywood blockbuster, teetering on greatness and total collapse in the same breath. In a critical game, the Jets found themselves trailing the Edmonton Oilers 4-1. Sure, a 2-1 series lead heading into Monday’s game wouldn’t be the worst at all. And yet, this particular deficit, reminiscent of the Jets getting rinsed in the regular season by McDavid, felt worse somehow. With a potentially series-defining game on the line, the Jets did an Absolute Madness.
Ten Thoughts

What the fudge?! No seriously, what?! The Jets came back from a 4-1 deficit in the span of 5 minutes, then won in overtime thanks to a glorious Nik Ehlers snipe. This team will drive you insane, and you’ll love them for it.
Connor Hellebuyck is stonewalling Edmonton. The reigning Vezina king has been Winnipeg’s best player overall, and if the Jets beat Edmonton, he deserves a solid 90-95% of the credit.
Nik Ehlers cannot be contained. The young Dane came back after a painful absence and immediately decided to score a brace. Both goals were critical moments, included the overtime winner. I missed our lad dearly.
Winnipeg was genuinely not great. That part probably shouldn’t be overlooked. Until Josh Archibald took that tripping penalty (which should have been a 5-minute major), the Jets were really struggling to create. Somehow, they prevailed anyways. This team, y’all!
The Oilers are rapidly running out of gas. McDavid and Draisaitl were muzzled for the first 2 games. Even with tremendous outings in game 3, the rest of the Oilers massively choked. Edmonton looks pretty screwed right now.
Honestly, I’ve got nothing else. My brain is pretty melted right now.
