In a phenomenal rematch between team USA and team Canada, Connor McDavid would win the game for Team Canada in overtime. First Period
Nathan MacKinnon would be the one to get Canada on the board first, at just about five minutes into the first period. On this play, MacKinnon would dance his way to the top of the circles and just ripped the puck on net from distance from there. Connor Hellebuyck didn’t see the puck whatsoever, and it was 1-0 Canada early.

Third Period
Both teams had a handful of chances on both ends of the ice, but neither team was able to end the game in regulation, so we would head to overtime.
Overtime
Connor McDavid would ultimately be the hero in overtime for team Canada. He actually initially had a chance to end the game right off the draw at the start of this play, and after that chance, McDavid wound up in the slot completely ungaurded. Mitch Marner made a great pass to him, and he made no mistake, giving team Canada the win. Nathan MacKinnon would also win the 4 Nations MVP award!

Takeaways
What an absolutely phenomenal game. In fact, this whole tournament was just so much fun to watch. This was a breath of fresh air and a much needed departure from an All-Star Weekend format that had frankly gone a bit stale in recent years. Instead of just running it back with that format, the NHL made a much needed change, and came up with a tournament that ended up being absoultely electric to watch. I for one enjoyed watching some actual hockey during this break for a change! That being said, I’m also excited to get back to the NHL regular season on Saturday as well!
Upcoming
The NHL season continues again on Saturday, and the Colorado Avalanche take on the Nashville Predators on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. MT!...
