The Vancouver Canucks have gotten a nice piece of business done, announcing that they have signed breakout forward Nils Hoglander to a three-year extension.  General Manager Patrik Allvin announces that the #Canucks have agreed to terms with forward Nils Höglander on a three-year contract extension with a $3 million AAV.— Vancouver Canucks (@Canucks) October 6, 2024Hoglander, who set a career-high with 24 goals last season, has agreed to a three-year extension with a $3 million AAV. It will kick in in 2025-26, after his two-year, $1.1 million AAV deal concludes after the upcoming campaign. The third-liner, in addition to posting a stunning 24-goal total in just 12 minutes of play per night, also registered a career-best plus/minus rating of +23. The 23-year-old was a second-round selection by the Canucks (40th overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. After reaching double-digits in goals in his first two seasons (13, followed by 10), he struggled in 2022-23 with just 3 goals in 25 games, and then spent most of the season in the AHL where he found his game, recording 14 goals and 32 points in 45 games. Hoglander then translated that into his 24-goal, 36-point season in 80 games with Vanncouver in 2023-24. Photo: © Bob Frid-Imagn Images...
