T-Birds Erase 2-0 Deficit to Earn Point vs. Penguins

– The Springfield Thunderbirds (25-14-5-2) erased a 2-0 deficit in the final period to earn a point, but the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (20-21-2-3) came away with a 3-2 shootout win on Saturday night inside the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Springfield’s first power-play chance of the night came and went without much to show for it. The second period opened with a bang for the Penguins, who took just 44 seconds to tally the first goal of the night at 4-on-4 play. With traffic distracting Nappier, Wesley’s shot squeaked in on the glove side to get Springfield equalized, 2-2, at 9:32 of the final period. Having now earned points in four consecutive games, the T-Birds maintain a hold of first in the Atlantic Division....
