NHL Rumors: Predators To Move Young Forward

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

The Nashville Predators could trade Luke Kunin before the deadline passes, according to Frank Seravalli. The only way where it would make sense for Nashville to trade Kunin is if they are receiving an upgrade for their top six in the process. At this point of the campaign, they sport a 28-17-4 record and are well on their way to making the playoffs this spring. However, they certainly could use another scorer in their lineup, and that could make the 24-year-old expendable in the process. The Predators acquired Kunin from the Minnesota Wild during the 2020 offseason. After having a 19-point campaign in 38 games last season, he has cooled off a bit this year. In 49 games, he has 10 goals and eight assists, so he is producing less this go-around. The 2016 first-round pick is showing signs of being more of a third-line forward, so it could be best for the Predators to move him if it brings in an upgrade. During the offseason, Kunin will be a restricted free agent, so the Predators would still have control over him if they choose to keep him around. Yet, if the right trade presents itself, we could see the young forward dealt next month. Photo Credit: © Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports...
