NHL Rumors: Flyers To Trade Veteran Goaltender
Martin Jones is another player from the Philadephia Flyers who we should see moved before the trade deadline passes, according to Frank Seravalli. Jones signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Flyers during the offseason. So far, he has been showing some signs of improvement, as he has a 6-8-2 record and a .901 save percentage. During his last three seasons with the San Jose Sharks, he sported an .896 save percentage each year. Therefore, it's nice to see his save percentage back above the .900 mark.At this juncture of Jones' career, it is hard to argue that he can be a starter. However, teams looking for a veteran backup goalie could consider the 32-year-old. He has had moments where he has played very well this season and can be useful in a limited role. With the Flyers having a 15-24-8 record and being at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division, it's apparent that they will be sellers this year. With this, players with expiring contracts like Jones should be flipped before the deadline.Photo Credit: © Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports...
