Bruins Provide Update On Tuukka Rask

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy told reporters that Tuukka Rask is unlikely to return before the All-Star break. Rask was initially deemed as being day-to-day, but it seems that his current injury may be a bit more serious than they originally believed. The 34-year-old of course had hip surgery during the offseason to repair a torn labrum. Thus, seeing him get injured so quickly into his season is concerning and he cannot be rushed back. Rask just signed a one-year contract with the Bruins earlier this month. He has struggled mightily since returning, as he has a 2-2-0 record, 4.28 goals-against average, and .844 save percentage. With this, he could use a bit more conditioning and time to shake off the rustiness. He definitely can bounce back when looking at his track record. In 564 career games with Boston, he has a 308-165-66 record, 2.28 goals-against average, and .921 save percentage. Here's to hoping that Rask doesn't have to miss more time after the All-Star Game is played.Photo Credit: © Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports...
