Logan O'Connor Secures Long-Term Extension From Avalanche
The Colorado Avalance have gotten a nice piece of business done on Monday, re-signing pending unrestricted free agent Logan O'Connor to a six-year extension with a $2.5 million AAV.Despite having gone undrafted, the 28-year-old has now established himself as a solid secondary scorer on the Avs' third line, while improving in each of his six seasons (the last three being a full-time contributor).LOC'd in for six more years 🔒We have signed Logan O'Connor to six-year contract extension!#GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/SeMEoRPKY0— Colorado Avalanche (@Avalanche) September 23, 2024 O'Connor had season-ending hip surgery in March, but not before posting the best season of his career, with 13 goals and 25 points in 57 games, while playing just a tick under 15 minutes per night. His offseason rehab went well and he is expected to be ready to play in some preseason games. "We want him to get some games, but just getting out in practice for a guy like Logan it's going to help him in working all these 5-on-5 drills that we're doing. It should get us up to speed quickly," said head coach Jared Bednar this past week.O'Connor will immediately be reunited with his linemates from last season, Ross Colton and Miles Wood, as the trio clicked quite well together. O'Connor's deal is the exact same term and money as Wood's, signed last year. Photo: © James Guillory-Imagn Images...
