Filed under: What a fun way to kick off a new year! We are mere hours into 2021 and already we’ve got some fun news in Flyers country: Per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Flyers will play the Bruins in an outdoor game on Lake Tahoe. Okay not actually on the lake but like, right next to it.

And absolutely gorgeous, as Elliotte subsequently tweeted that this photo is from, approximately, where the game will be played. Friedman’s report is very “according to sources” in its wording, but c’mon, it’s Elliotte Friedman, you guys.

be played in late February, as the NHL’s first attempt to hold games in ‘natural’ settings rather than inside baseball or football stadiums. If it happens, it’s going to be a gorgeous spectacle, to be sure.
