Filed under: A few surprises among the list, and one very odd number change for a certain youngster. The Flyers released their training camp roster this afternoon, which is neat. Just a six-day camp due to due the rapidly approaching 2021 season, which will be 56 games long, the Flyers will bring 41 players along with the group hitting the ice on January 4.

DEFENSE (14) Chris Bigras, Justin Braun, Mark Friedman, Shayne Gostisbehere, Erik Gustafsson, Robert Hagg, Philippe Myers, Derrick Pouliot, Nate Prosser, Ivan Provorov, Travis Sanheim, Tyler Wotherspoon, Wyatte Wylie, Egor Zamula.

A couple of notes here as the news broke the other day that Sam Morin would move to left wing, and there are a number of players omitted. Some of those include a few on loan to European teams such as German Rubstov, Linus Hogberg, David Kase, and Makshim Sushko.

Also of note is the number change for Joel Farabee from No. 49 to No. 86, where he’ll become the first Flyer to ever don it.

More to come this week as the Flyers open up 2021 training camp in preparation for the upcoming season with one goal in mind: Lord Stanley’s Cup.
