It’s another Avalanche gameday! As the Colorado Avalanche embark on their first east coast road trip of the calendar year, they will encounter an unusual quirk in the schedule of back-to-back matinee games. First up is a meeting with the Boston Bruins before heading to New York.
The biggest storyline of the day (decade?) is the shocking trade of Mikko Rantanen and what that does to the Avalanche lineup both in this contest and beyond. Perhaps Martin Necas and Jack Drury will get to Boston in time to make their Avalanche debut.

After two consecutive losses at home the Avalanche will be glad to see the road for a little while, especially considering the new players need to bond with their new teammates. Miles Wood is expected back sometime soon but perhaps not today.
