If the goal is to win the Stanley Cup then one must have the wisdom to realize there comes a time when the cupboard becomes bare concurrent to an aging out of the core. It’s not wise to be retreading old tires year after year, it becomes a recipe for a crash, in the case of our beloved Bruins, new tires are required. If not, it’s highly likely that not only will this team be hard pressed to make playoffs for the near future, they could wallow in mediocrity for much longer. I’d much rather possibly sacrifice a few playoffs and rebuild then limp in for a round year after year while continuing to give away the future to get there....
