Spencer Stastney Earns First Arbitration Award of 2024

Young Nashville Predators defenseman Spencer Stastney has landed a two-year contract via arbitration, in the first decision to come down in the summer of 2024. Spencer Stastney arbitration award2024-25: 825K NHL/400K AHL2025-26: It’s a one-way at $850-ish— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) July 24, 2024Stastney submitted a one-year, $950,000 offer to arbitration while Nashville countered with a two-year, two-way deal at $775,000 in the NHL, and $125,000 at the AHL level in 2024-25 and $175,000 in 2025-26. The result of arbitration was a creative one that gave Stastney a two-year deal: $825,000 in the NHL and $400,000 at the AHL in the first year, and a one-way contract for 2025-26 at $850,000. The 24-year-old spent 20 games with Nashville this past season, notching two goals and two assists for four points with a very solid plus/minus rating of +9. With the Milwaukee Admirals, he recorded 20 points in 44 games with an even more impressive +27 rating. The American-born Stastney was a fifth-round pick of the Predators in 2018 and has spent most of his first two seasons in pro hockey at the AHL level.
