The 2022 NHL Trade Deadline is shaping up to be a buyer’s market.

On defense and in goal, in particular, there seem to be more players available than teams seeking those positions. There is also a glut of impact forwards available – and really only 18 teams with authentic playoff hopes, many of them who are capped out and/or aren’t in the position to push their chips to the middle.

All of that said, this may be one of the more interesting deadlines for non-playoff teams, who may be able to move pieces around to get some of this summer’s shopping down ahead of time.

New Jersey, Columbus, Philadelphia, Seattle and Detroit may all be active ahead of the March 21 deadline, now less than three weeks away.

Daily Faceoff’s Trade Targets list is back with five new names, including Filip Zadina, Damon Severson, Alexandre Texier, Joonas Donskoi and Kasperi Kapanen, all ranked by a blend of impact and likeliness of a deal using insight and intel from team and league sources:
