Flyers Forward Done For Season

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier has had back surgery and will be out for the rest of the 2021-22 season. It was recently announced by Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher that there was a good chance that Couturier would be out for the remainder of the campaign. Now, after deciding to go with the surgery, it has officially come to fruition. With the Flyers sporting a 15-23-8 record, it seems that the right call has been made by Couturier. There's no reason for him to cause more damage to his injury by coming back, as the Flyers are of course completely out of the playoff picture. Instead, the 29-year-old will now have a lot of time to recover and be entirely healthy for the start of next season. In 29 games this season, Couturier had six goals, 11 assists, and a minus-6 rating. It wasn't the most dominant of years for him, but he should have the ability to bounce back very nicely next season. Photo Credit: © Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports...
