Word is that the Coyotes have also extended assistants John Madden, Mario Duhamel and goalie coach Corey Schwab."He is an excellent coach, leader and communicator who has helped us establish a tremendous culture in our dressing room," said GM Bill Armstrong in making the Tourigny announcement. "Our players like him, respect him and compete hard for him. We are thrilled to have him signed as our head coach for the next three years." Tourigny, 49, will be going into his third season as the 'Yotes head coach. His 53-90-21 record thus far belies the fact that the team actually had a 23-point improvement last season from the year before, while posting a winning record at home, 21-15-5. In addition, Tourigny has helped push the development of their young core that includes rising stars Clayton Keller, Lawson Crouse, Nick Schmaltz and more. "I feel very lucky to work with our group of players," said Tourigny after signing his deal. "The hard work and commitment to the team they have demonstrated the past two years has established the foundation of our culture. It's an exciting time to be part of the Coyotes. My family and I love the Valley and we are thrilled to be committed long term in Arizona."Now if only we had some assurance that the Coyotes will be committed long-term in Arizona, as their push to find a new arena site continues.Photo: Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports...
