Utah Hockey Club forward Matias Maccelli is starting to create noise in the rumor mill with the March 7 NHL trade deadline approaching. It has been a tough year for the 24-year-old forward, but when noting that he had 17 goals and 57 points just last season, there should be plenty of interest in him. Due to this, let's go over three potential landing spots for him. Pittsburgh PenguinsThe Penguins have had a tough season, so they won't be in the market for rentals. However, they have been looking to add young impactful players, so somebody like Maccelli could grab their attention. He is signed until the end of the 2025-26 season and will be a restricted free agent once his deal expires. Thus, he could be a player they target in hopes of him being a long-term part of their top six. New York RangersThe Rangers could be another team to watch when it comes to Maccelli. It is no secret that they want to add to their forward group, and a young forward with term like Maccelli could make sense for them because of it. He would nicely in their middle six and also be a clear option for their power play as well if acquired.Montreal CanadiensThe Canadiens could make sense as a landing spot for Maccelli. He is young enough where he would fit into their rebuild and would also have the potential to improve their top six. The Habs have not been afraid to take chances on younger players with good upside, so Maccelli could fit right in their alley. photo credit: © Chris Nicoll-Imagn Images...
