It’s been a very meets-expectations start to the season. The Islanders’ first week of the season concluded by going from good, to less good, to worse. Two regulation wins to kick off the season are now a memory as the Isles showed flaws (but also fight) in their OT loss to the Devils and then just a nothing-burger performance in Buffalo.
Dan and Mike have more to say about all that in the latest Islanders Anxiety podcast.
Now on the horizon: Three out of four games at home to finish out October, beginning and ending with opponents who are off to hot starts; the Colorado Avalanche are undefeated and visit Tuesday, the currently 5-1 Red Wings visit a week from today. In between are a visit from the Senators and a brief trip to Columbus.
