Smith traded to Penguins from Golden Knights

Ivan Barbashev signed a 5-year, $25 million contract to stay with the Vegas Golden Knights after Reilly Smith was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. The 27-year-old forward had 45 points (16 goals, 29 assists) in 82 regular-season games for the Golden Knights and St. Louis Blues this season, including 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 23 games after he was acquired in a trade with the Blues on Feb. 26. He had 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in 22 Stanley Cup Playoff games and helped Vegas win the Stanley Cup, his second NHL championship after winning with St. Louis in 2019. The signing was announced shortly after Vegas traded Smith to Pittsburgh for a third-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. Smith ranks third in Vegas history in points (286), second in goals (124) and fourth in games (399)....
