Canucks Forward Not Expected To Play This Season

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau told reporters that Brandon Sutter is not expected to play this season.Sutter has missed the entirety of this campaign due to long-term COVID-19 symptoms. It was announced before the start of the regular season that he would be out for a long period of time, but it now seems apparent that he's being ruled out for the rest of the year.Sutter signed a one-year, $1.125 million contract to stay with the Canucks during the offseason. Before it, he played six season with the Canucks, where he became an important part of their bottom six and penalty kill. He also was a good leader in their locker room - hence why he sported an "A" on his sweater. In 278 games with the franchise, he has 54 goals, 50 assists, and 104 points. Here's to hoping that Sutter continues to feel better with each day that passes. Regardless of if he returns to action later down the road or not, this is what's most important at the end of the day.Photo Credit: © Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports...
