NHL Rumors: Ducks Open To Moving Defenseman
The Anaheim Ducks are open to trading Jacob Larsson, according to Frank Seravalli.Larsson was selected by the Ducks with the 27th pick of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he hasn't been able to cement himself a permanent spot on the NHL roster. In fact, the 24-year-old has primarily played this campaign with their AHL affiliate - the San Diego Gulls. In 25 games with the team, he has nine assists. Larsson has gotten into some NHL action this season, though. In six games with the Ducks, he has one assist and a minus-3 rating. He hasn't appeared in a contest with them since January 21st, however. It's clear that his placement on the depth chart has dropped off dramatically, and it may be best for the former first-rounder to be given a change of scenery. In 165 career games over five seasons, Larsson has three goals, 21 assists, and a minus-26 rating. Perhaps there will be a team willing to give him a shot, but especially with his trade value being a lot lower than it was before. At this point, it seems best for both parties to move on.
