Canadiens Extend Assistant Coach
The Montreal Canadiens and assistant coach Luke Richardson have agreed on a three-year extension. It makes sense that the Canadiens wanted to bring him back, as he did a fantastic job replacing head coach Dominique Ducharme this postseason when he was out with COVID-19. His coaching decisions helped significantly against the heavily favored Vegas Golden Knights. Since joining the Canadiens in 2018, Richardson has been in control of the team's defense and penalty kill. This is surely fitting, as the 52-year-old played over 1,400 career NHL games as a defensive defenseman. In time, it would not be surprising to see Richardson eventually become a head coach at the NHL level. For now though, he will be sticking with the Canadiens, as they hope to bring a Stanley Cup back to Montreal for the first time since 1993.Photo Credit: © Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports...
